Elektra 74007-2 (242 012)

genre: rock
LP originally released in 1967

Made in France by M.P.O.
Known matrix numbers: 242012 MPO 02., 242012 MPO 04.
The 02. variation has no text embossed in the plastic center.
The 04. variation can be found with or without "COMPACT DISC MPO FRANCE 07"
embossed in the plastic center. There may be other minor variations.

Front cover of the six-page foldout booklet, "Printed in West Germany"
Note the Gold Record Award seal. This seal was removed when the remastered
version was released in the late 1980s. On the latest remaster, it has reappeared.
Note also that there is a retouched area above the Elektra logo. This will be
found on all West German and French pressings. For the Japanese and US target
pressings, the booklet has the catalog number in this area. The West German-printed
booklet is a six-page foldout one-piece affair. This French pressing often comes with the West
German booklet, although the back insert is printed in France.

Front cover of the six-page French foldout booklet.
"Fabriqué par MPO" is printed inside.
The front is pretty much the same as the West German booklet.
The French booklet appears to harder to find than the WG booklet, with the French target CD.
Thanks to Kym for the scan.

Rear tray insert "Printed in France" with no barcode, old Elektra logo.
Note that the word, "France" is in a different typeface than the rest
of the back cover. Nothing is printed on the reverse.

Notes: There are only a few copies of this disc in collector hands as far as I know.
I found this one in a record store in Los Angeles (for only eight bucks!), but
I have no reason to believe it was actually distributed in the US.
Many international discs wind up in LA. In spite of intense searching by many
collectors, few copies have yet to surface. Until more copies come to market,
I have to rate this as scarce.

Jewel case info: (02. matrix) heavy ridged-top six-tab two-dimple case with "F21-2"
embossed on one tab and "F2-8" embossed on the back portion, inside bottom center.
Eight-prong disc tray embossed "Patents pending" and an upside-down "4"
